Cornwall 1. - modern painting

The modern painting “Cornwall 1.” was born from a personal travel experience. It was inspired by the stunning coastline of Cornwall, where the closeness of nature, the endless view of the sea and the tranquility of the landscape left a lasting impression on me.

The painting is not an exact representation of a specific location, but a formulation of the special feeling I experienced on the Cornish coast. Sitting in a quiet bay, I watched the sea for a long time, the movement of the waves and the changing lights. The view itself was captivating, but the experience became complete when I walked into the water and directly experienced the cool power and presence of the sea.

The color scheme of the composition is defined by shades of sand, beige, white, light blue, medium blue and dark blue. The soft transitions evoke the natural connection of the coast, water and sky. The different blue tones suggest the variability and depth of the sea, while the lighter shades bring lightness and tranquility to the composition.

The textured paste used in some parts of the painting subtly highlights the wave-like forms, making the surface not only visually but also materially richer. The textures evoke the movement of waves hitting the shore and the constant change of nature.

The painting “Cornwall 1.” is for me a memory of freedom, living in the present moment and a direct connection with nature. The realization that there are places and moments when you simply have to stop, observe and experience what surrounds us.

The painting simultaneously carries the calm and power of the sea, the excitement of distant journeys and the timeless beauty of memories.

The painting:

• original work hand-painted on stretched cotton canvas measuring 80 x 60 cm, the canvas is pinned to the back of the frame, the side of the canvas is also painted,
• textured surface created with structure paste, painted with quality artist acrylic paints: white, beige, sand, light blue, dark blue,
• the surface of the painting is coated with UV-resistant, satin gloss varnish.

This painting is a unique, handmade original work. The signature of the painter, Erika Dékány, can be found on the back of the painting. The painting will be delivered with a certificate of origin.

The painting is made on stretched canvas, the side of which is also painted, so it can be placed on the wall without framing.
